May is Women’s Health and Mental Health Awareness Month
You may have noticed that we have recently changed the format of the newsletter with the goal being to integrate a monthly theme. One way to do this is to see what the “awareness” for the month is. It turns out each month has quite a few topics. For example, May is both Women’s Health Month and Mental Health Awareness Month and several more! If you are interested in learning more about the awareness months click here: Directory of Awareness Months
To address the awareness of the month we explore female hormones as they have a dramatic effect on overall health and mental health as well. Tying in with hormones we learn about the red spots that appear on our bodies. And for the men (and women who care about their man) we look at the prostate gland and how it affects a man’s overall health and well-being.
Before we dive into those, a reminder that our last two classes of the season are coming up this month on May 3 and 17.
May 3 – The Pioneers of Nutrition and the Eternal Truths of Healing the Body

Come meet the pioneers of nutrition – Dr. Weston Price, Dr. Frances Pottenger, and Dr. Royal Lee.

Did you know that over 50% of men between the ages of 40 and 70 suffer from erectile dysfunction? These statistics do not have to be. This class is designed both for men and for their supportive partners to better understand men’s health issues.
Balance Your Hormones for Health, Vitality, and Mental Well-Being

What Are Those Red Spots?
This information is important for both women and men!!
Do you have red dots on your skin? These are known as “cherry hemangiomas.” You can see pictures and read on the Internet that these are common and nothing to worry about, that they are not sure why they occur, and that they are common as we age. Perhaps there is more to the story. Something is happening in the body that is causing this to occur, and it is called estrogen dominance.

The Prostate – Key to a Man’s Health and Vitality
You may be familiar with the old saying that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Here is another truism – the key to a man’s health and his enjoyment of life, particularly as he ages, is his prostate.
